Biography

Brook's practice focuses on climate change and renewable energy.

Brook helps his clients navigate domestic and international climate change programs and regulations, develop renewable energy projects, and generate carbon offsets and reductions. He advises clients on negotiating, structuring, and implementing transactions related to carbon reductions, and has supported the development and transaction of several billion USD in carbon assets. Brook also supports clients through all phases of renewable energy projects, with experience in solar, wind, biomass, and biogas, with a focus on relevant regulations, incentives, permitting, and commercial agreements. Additionally, he represents clients on emerging ESG and sustainability matters, including achieving emissions reductions, launching low-carbon products, and complying with disclosure and green marketing requirements.

Brook resides in Maine and serves as Managing Principal of B&D's Boston office, and as the Chair of the firm’s Sustainability Committee. Prior to joining the firm, Brook was an associate in the environmental department of a large international law firm; previously, he served as a law clerk at the U.S. Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division.

Brook also maintains an active pro bono practice, counseling individuals and non-profit entities on a range of legal matters in New England.
