Deepti Gage, Claire McLeod to Present on International ESG Frameworks & Developments for the Association of Corporate Counsel
Associates Deepti Gage (Washington, DC) and Claire McLeod (San Francisco) will present an Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Environmental & Sustainability Network Legal Update webinar, "International ESG Frameworks & Developments."
As the demand for companies to meet domestic environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards increases, there is a growing emphasis on international collaboration on ESG initiatives, as countries strive to meet their Paris Agreement climate targets. From working to reduce plastic pollution and enable a more circular economy under a developing United Nations plastics treaty to potential new biodiversity standards, companies with a global presence should consider how these new and emerging requirements and frameworks will impact their ESG practices. During this Legal Update, Deepti and Claire will provide an overview of the current international ESG landscape, including what entities might fall “in scope” of many major frameworks, major business implications, and what developments are coming down the pipeline.
