Biography

With a passion for litigation, Peter is well-equipped to represent clients’ interests.

Before joining B&D, Peter built a bedrock understanding of federal litigation by clerking for both levels of federal trial court: with U.S. Magistrate Judge Gregory J. Fouratt in the District of New Mexico and U.S. District Court Judge Christine M. Arguello in the District of Colorado. Between both clerkships, Peter drafted over forty substantive judicial orders—including an eighty-six-page order on the merits of a petition for review of agency action involving Clean Water Act dredge-and-fill permitting, the National Environmental Policy Act, and the Endangered Species Act. As a clerk, he assisted in ten settlement conferences, two jury trials, and co-presented a CLE on best practices for drafting jury instructions.

During law school, Peter competed in six litigation competitions and, as a student attorney in the Getches-Green Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Law Clinic, drafted a motion for summary judgment on pesticides. He also logged 544 volunteer hours during his law school career, which included internships with the District of Colorado’s U.S. Attorney’s Office and another federal magistrate judge. As a result of these roles, Peter understands what judges need to rule favorably for a client.
