John Cossa and Brook Detterman Speaking at Boston Bar Association Program on Renewable Energy & the Environment
John Cossa (Associate, Washington, DC) will participate in a panel discussion "Renewable Energy & the Environment: Addressing and Mitigating Environmental Impacts Related to De-carbonizing the Grid," hosted by the Boston Bar Association (BBA) on March 20, 2017. Brook Detterman (Associate, Wellesley, MA) will moderate the panel.
The program will focus on addressing “traditional” environmental challenges that arise in the context of expanding renewable energy and other related infrastructure, such as transmission lines. As new infrastructure is developed around the region, stakeholders will need tools to address and mitigate impacts related to threatened and endangered species, fisheries and marine mammals, wetlands, and various other land-use and environmental considerations.
Mr. Cossa has extensive experience with offshore wind and other renewable energy issues, and previously served as an Attorney-Advisor at the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Office of the Solicitor.
Mr. Detterman serves as the co-chair of the Air Quality & Climate Change Committee of the BBA Environmental Law Section and focuses his practice on energy and climate change matters. He is an author of the U.S. Climate Change chapter in Getting the Deal Through – Climate Regulation 2017.
