Principal John Cruden (Washington, DC) will present two lectures on Thursday, May 11, for the National Judicial College in a lecture series titled, "Environmental Law Essentials for the Judiciary." John's first program will discuss toxic substances, solid waste, and emerging chemicals ligation, followed by an afternoon lecture on scientific and technical evidence. 

The series is designed for state court judges and will educate on what makes environmental law cases unique, while also introducing judges to the science behind the evidence these cases bring forth. State courts are largely responsible for environmental litigation, including land use and development decisions, and having a strong backing on this subject helps judges to make informed decisions in this crucial field.

This lecture series is held in partnership with the National Association of Women Judges and the Environmental Law Institute.
