B&D Attorneys Selected for Environmental Law Institute’s Emerging Leaders Initiative
Associate Majidah Cochran (Seattle) and Law Clerk Mary Crowell (Washington, DC) were selected for the 2022 cohort of the Environmental Law Institute’s (ELI) Emerging Leaders Initiative (ELI ELI). This is the third year in a row that B&D lawyers have been selected for ELI ELI.
The Environmental Law Institute formed the Emerging Leaders Initiative to connect, support, and foster dialogue among the next generation of rising stars in environmental law and policy. Selected by ELI leadership and staff, Emerging Leaders hail from across the U.S. and from a variety of practices to bring together those who will shape the future of environmental law and policy, and possibly go on to serve on the ELI Leadership Council and Board of Directors.
“ELI has enabled a broad cross section of environmental practitioners and institutions to make environmental, economic, and social progress both domestically and abroad,” said Majidah. “I feel fortunate to be a direct beneficiary of that progress through my participation in ELI ELI. I’m excited to gain the skills and connections necessary to empower communities directly impacted by the dynamic fields of environmental law, policy, and management.”
Mary said, “As a law clerk for ELI during law school, I was able to see ELI’s incredible impact on environmental law and policy up close. It is an honor to join this year’s cohort, and I look forward to learning from such a talented network of environmental practitioners.”
Principal Stacey Halliday (Washington, DC) is Chair of the ELI ELI Steering Committee, on which Associate Rujeko Muza (Washington, DC) also serves.
