B&D proudly announces that Amy Tenney Curren has joined the firm as Chief Talent Officer (CTO), based in the firm’s Washington, DC office. Amy brings a wealth of experience through her distinguished career as a partner at Jenner & Block LLP, Assistant Dean for Academic Services at American University Washington College of Law, and Director of the National Attorneys General Training & Research Institute. She joins B&D from her most recent role as Senior Director of Attorney Learning & Development at Morrison Foerster LLP.

In this new role, Amy will lead B&D’s talent strategy and enhance our recruitment, retention, and integration efforts while preserving B&D’s unique culture that enables our diverse team of more than 220 lawyers and staff to thrive as individuals, excel as well-rounded professionals, and deliver superior service and results to our clients. As a top national environmental and litigation practice, B&D is in the midst of implementing a significant strategic growth plan in which we have added more than 30 lawyers since June 2023. We now have more than 145 lawyers advising clients on significant environmental and ESG regulatory and compliance issues, complex litigation, and white collar and investigations matters around the U.S. and internationally. Amy will work with firmwide, office, and practice leaders to ensure the successful integration of new hires and the continual development of the firm’s entire talent pool through educational, mentoring, and inclusion initiatives.

“Amy brings a unique combination of experience which will be instrumental in driving forward our commitment to excellence and fostering a supportive environment as we continue to grow and solve our clients’ most complex challenges,” said Firmwide Managing Principal Marc J. Goldstein

In Amy’s previous roles, she aligned attorney development with business objectives, fostered cross-functional collaboration, and leveraged technology to drive efficiency and innovation. Amy is committed to promoting inclusive excellence and enriching the employee experience, rooted in the belief that people are the cornerstone of any successful business strategy.

Amy commented, “I am thrilled to join the B&D team. I look forward to bolstering the firm’s talent strategy and driving the firm forward to maintain and enhance its position as The Environmental Law Firm during such an exciting and dynamic time.”

Amy earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from New York Law School and her B.A., with High Honors, from the University of Maryland. Earlier in her career, she clerked for federal judges in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Amy succeeds Principal Paula Schauwecker (New York), who served as the firm’s inaugural CTO for the past four years and is returning to her litigation practice with the firm full-time.
