B&D Achieves Mansfield 7.0 Plus Certification for Diversity & Inclusion
Beveridge & Diamond proudly announces that we achieved Mansfield Rule 7.0 Plus Certification for the sixth consecutive year. The structured certification process that B&D has committed to since 2018 ensures all talent at the firm has a fair and equal opportunity to advance into leadership. The focus is on opening the door wider and ensuring that opportunities for advancement are transparent and inclusive for everyone. To achieve this certification, at least 30% of our talent pools considered for leadership roles must consist of underrepresented groups, and advancement processes must be transparent.
The Plus designation indicates that B&D voluntarily provided data to the Diversity Lab to show our progress and outcomes of our efforts to broaden talent pools and increase the visibility of our advancement processes.
“We are so proud of our Mansfield Plus certification and what the program stands for. B&D has and will continue to be a leader in diversity in the workplace and legal profession,” said Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Committee Co-Chairs Alyse Adamson, Evynn Overton, and Anthony Papetti. “Throughout the firm’s participation in the certification process over the years, we are perpetually enhancing our own initiatives to foster a culture of inclusion at B&D.”
Highlights of B&D’s own DE&I outcomes include:
55% of our lawyers are diverse (including women, minorities, and openly LGBTQ+ individuals).
63% of our associates, 38% of our principals, and 44% of our attorneys overall are female.
50% of our management committee attorneys are women or minorities.
22% of our attorneys are minorities or openly LGBTQ.
The Managing Principals of our Austin, San Francisco, Seattle, and Baltimore offices are women, as are our General Counsel, Chair, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, and Chief Talent Officer.
The firm has already begun participating in the Mansfield Rule 8.0 initiative that began in July 2024.
B&D participates in several DE&I efforts in addition to the Mansfield Rule. Organizations such as the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, and the National Association of Women Lawyers have consistently recognized us for our leadership.
