Celebrating 25 Years in Baltimore

On February 22, B&D's Baltimore Office celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Baltimore Museum of Industry for clients, friends, and colleagues.

Joel Dunn, president and CEO of the Chesapeake Conservancy, presented on the application of cutting-edge technology for data-driven conservation and restoration in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, as well as the creation of some exciting new parks and wildlife refuges. B&D provides pro bono legal services for the Conservancy.

Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown also gave remarks, including sharing his plans to continue and expand the Thurgood Marshall Clerkship Program, which provides competitive, paid summer clerkships at the Maryland Office of the Attorney General for historically underrepresented law students with enriching leadership and legal training opportunities. The program—now in its eleventh year—evolved from a B&D discussion with the Attorney General about how to improve diversity in the public sector’s legal community. Former B&D Chairman Benjamin Wilson proposed the clerkship program and inspired the commitment of other key players.

B&D’s Baltimore office, including office co-founder Pam Marks and Office Managing Principal Evynn Overton, worked closely with the Attorney General’s office to design the program and garner the participation of other Baltimore law firms.

The Baltimore Business Journal covered the office's anniversary here, and The Daily Record featured the event here.
