John Cruden Named to Council on Strategic Risks Board of Directors
The Council on Strategic Risks (CSR) appointed Principal John Cruden (Washington, DC) to its Board of Directors. CSR is a nonprofit, non-partisan security policy institute committed to identifying and addressing systemic risks to security in the 21st century and how they may intersect.
John said, “I am honored to be appointed to CSR’s board. I find the combined CSR focus on national security and climate change issues fascinating and look forward to collaborating with the board."

John provides strategic counsel on high-stakes environmental and natural resources litigation, civil and criminal enforcement, and compliance. He has been and continues to be called upon as an expert witness on environmental law, and is a frequent speaker at environmental conferences. He is the past Assistant Attorney General, Environment and Natural Resources Division, US Department of Justice, the former President of the Environmental Law Institute, the former Chair of the American Bar Association Section on Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources, and the former President of the American College of Environmental Lawyers. John also serves as an Adjunct Professor for George Washington University.
