Law360 named B&D Principal Parker Moore (Washington, DC) one of its 2024 MVPs in the environmental law category. According to Law360, MVPs “have distinguished themselves from their peers by securing hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.” With more than 900 submissions to determine the winners, the 2024 MVP class consists of 157 lawyers from 74 firms and 34 practice areas – 5 in environmental law.

Parker’s recent accomplishments over the past year include:

  • Serving as Mountain Valley Pipeline’s (MVP) lead regulatory counsel on Endangered Species Act (ESA) compliance, working with the client team, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to satisfy all applicable ESA requirements. MVP began its operations on June 14, 2024.
  • Serving as lead ESA counsel defending an ESA citizen suit against the world’s leading supplier of endotoxin testing products, which are medically necessary to ensure the safety of every medical injectable and implantable medical device.
  • Serving as lead ESA counsel to 8 of the world’s largest tire manufacturers and distributors to defend against a citizen suit alleging that every tire used in the U.S. results in unauthorized impacts to threatened and endangered salmonids.

"This recognition confirms what Beveridge & Diamond and our clients have long appreciated -- Parker is a true MVP,” said Firm Chair Kathy Szmuszkovicz. “Parker consistently brings innovative approaches to help our clients resolve challenges to their projects and achieve their goals. Thank you to Law360 for this well-deserved acknowledgment of Parker’s talents.”

Parker co-chairs B&D’s Natural Resources and Project Development Practice Group and the firm’s National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Wetlands, and Endangered Species, Wildlife Protection groups. Reflecting on his career, in his interview with Law360, Parker said, “I love what I do,” adding that he especially enjoys finding solutions for the intractable problems that regularly arise in the world of project development. "The fun comes from accomplishing something that's difficult, and that's really what environmental law — in particular, natural resources and project development law — allows you to focus on."
