Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Recognizes B&D as a 2024 Top Performer and Compass Award Winner
The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) named B&D as a Top Performer and Compass Award winner for 2024. These accolades recognize firms that are committed to building diverse organizations and an inclusive legal profession.
LCLD is composed of more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners—the leaders of the profession—who are committed to ensuring that all talent thrives, with the ultimate goal of building a more equitable and diverse legal profession.
The Top Performer award recognizes those organizations who are most engaged with LCLD’s programs and activities throughout the year.
The Compass Award recognizes those individuals and organizations that fulfilled all the following requirements in a single calendar year:
- Member (Managing Partner/General Counsel) engagement with LCLD;
- Nominate an LCLD Fellow;
- Nominate an LCLD Pathfinder;
- Participate in an LCLD pipeline program (the 1L Scholars Program or the Success in Law School Mentoring Program).

B&D is a founding member of LCLD and has sponsored a firm lawyer’s participation in the LCLD Fellows and Pathfinder Programs every year since their inception. In 2024, Of Counsel Anthony Papetti (New York) and Associate Julia Li (Washington, DC) were selected to participate in the LCLD Fellows and Pathfinders programs, respectively.
DE&I are core values and business imperatives at B&D. The firm holds Mansfield Rule 6.0 Plus certification, indicating that our firm considers women, LGBTQ+, minorities, and lawyers with disabilities for at least 30% of all significant leadership roles, lateral recruiting, and business development opportunities. The “Plus” status signifies that B&D took steps to increase inclusivity in firm leadership and has made measured progress in doing so. In 2022 and 2023, MCCA awarded B&D its George B. Vashon Innovator Award recipient, given to a law firm with fewer than 500 attorneys that “led the way with innovative best practices to assist diverse attorneys.”
