Stephen Smith Named to Leadership Atlanta’s Class of 2025
Leadership Atlanta, one of the nation’s oldest and most sustained community leadership programs for business, civic, and community leaders, has named Of Counsel Stephen Smith to its Class of 2025. During the nine-month program, Stephen and class members will learn more about top issues in the Atlanta region through retreats, seminars, service projects, tours, and more. This is the program’s 56th year. Stephen practices in Atlanta while being affiliated with B&D’s Washington, DC, office.
“I am honored to be a part of Leadership Atlanta’s Class of 2025 and can’t wait to connect with and learn from other members of the Class to help make an impact in the Atlanta community,” Stephen said.
Stephen is deeply involved in the Atlanta community. He is a graduate of Leadership DeKalb, LEAD Atlanta, and the Atlanta Federal Executive Board’s Leadership Government. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Morris Brown College, one of the six Historically Black Colleges and Universities in Atlanta, and is the former Chairman of the Board for Trinity Community Ministries, a transitional housing and rehabilitation facility supporting the recovery and successful transition of Atlanta’s homeless and veteran community, as well as the Avondale Elementary School Education Foundation, which seeks to enhance educational opportunities for underserved students at a Title I school in DeKalb County. As a result of his work, Stephen has been recognized by several EPA and private awards, including “40 under 40” recognitions from the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Georgia Trend Magazine, and his alma mater, Auburn University.
