OSHA State Plans
Twenty-two states have State Plans that cover private sector and state and local government workers, and six states have State Plans that cover only state and local government workers. State Plans must be at least as effective as federal health and safety requirements. Employers in these states should check for requirements that differ from the OSHA requirements. This chart outlines each state's approach.
