Lawyers Who Lead, a podcast produced by Lawline, recently interviewed B&D’s Chief Talent Officer (CTO) and Principal Paula Schauwecker (New York) for its August 15 episode titled, “Leading by Developing Trust with Paula J. Schauwecker.” Building off of her 2022 interview with Lawyers Who Lead, Paula discusses her path to becoming a lawyer and her role as B&D’s CTO.

“Leadership in law could mean so many different things, but I think it means leading with empathy, listening to people, being positive, and creating a positive atmosphere where you are building on strengths and building people up.”

As CTO, Paula coordinates and leads attorney recruiting, retention, and professional development at B&D. She talks about how she came into that role in 2020, the creation of B&D University, and how she balances her work as both a Principal and CTO. She also talks about what leadership in law means to her and why she believes trust is important.
