Principal Peter Schaumberg (Washington, DC) will speak at the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation's Annual Short Course on Federal Offshore Oil & Gas Leasing and Development, taking place in New Orleans, LA, from April 10 to 12. The conference will focus on the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, the U.S. Department of the Interior’s regulation of the offshore oil and gas industry, and the primary agreements used in offshore oil and gas operations, as well as the roles of other federal statutes and agencies.
Peter will speak in a presentation titled "Liability of Predecessors, Successors, and Assigns," which will take place on April 11 from 2:15pm to 3:00pm (CDT). Other topics addressed at the conference will include the jurisdictional battle over offshore oil and gas rights, Interior’s offshore leasing program, lease maintenance, assignments of offshore leases, the substantive law of coastal states as “surrogate” federal law, decommissioning liability, bonding, inspections and enforcement, administrative appeals, and more.
CLE credit will be available in some jurisdictions.
