Stacey Sublett Halliday and Roy Prather Quoted in The Diversity Movement
Principals Stacey Sublett Halliday (Washington, DC) and Roy Prather (Baltimore) were interviewed by The Diversity Movement in an article “Five Eastern U.S. Law Firms That Do DEI Right.” The article discusses and recognizes B&D’s industry-leading diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) efforts.
Roy, the former Chair of B&D’s DE&I Committee, discussed DE&I being a core value of B&D and how those values are woven through all firm activities. “Everything we do is driven by the people we serve or the people we work with. In order to be effective as a team and also as a service provider, you have to incorporate the knowledge, perspective, and skills of the entirety of the people who make up the firm,” he said.
Stacey, the current chair of B&D’s DE&I Committee, said that it’s B&D’s “bottom-line commitment to ensure that we’re really being thorough and following through, not just in recruiting but in those who we advance in our organization.” Stacey and Roy also highlighted how the firm’s commitment to DE&I efforts has been beneficial for the firm’s recruitment efforts and helped to build trust and collegiality among employees.
