Former Beveridge & Diamond Chair Steve Richmond (Boston) was recently elected as the President of the Board of Directors of MetroWest Legal Services (MWLS), a legal services organization serving 45 communities west of Boston, Massachusetts. MWLS provides free civil legal representation to people who are unable to afford a lawyer. Steve has served on the Board of Directors of MWLS since 2015.

MWLS offers legal representation in a wide variety of areas, including Housing, Immigration, Elder Law, Family Law, Domestic Violence, Financial Distress, School and Student Rights, and Government Benefits. It also runs several innovative programs including a Medical-Legal Partnership to address legal issues associated with poor health, and a program to provide Civil Legal Aid for Victims of Crime.

In his role as President of the Board, Steve will work to enhance the ability of the organization to carry out its critical mission, partnering with a strong MWLS team comprised of 12 board members and 37 professionals. Steve noted that “it has been a pleasure to serve on the MWLS Board over these recent years. I am excited to take on this new role to assist with the growth of our programs that provide access to justice to those without financial resources, and to help ensure the continued strength and success of the organization.”
