On July 14, the Environmental Business Council of New England (EBC) named Associate Lauren Karam (Boston) as a 2023 Ascending Leader. This award recognizes young professionals in the energy and environmental sectors who demonstrate exceptional leadership and industry involvement.

At B&D, Lauren co-chairs the Associates Committee and is involved with the environmental justice (EJ) Practice Group and Women’s Initiative. Her practice focuses on helping clients navigate air and climate regulations and respond to government enforcement actions, as well as general litigation. Lauren also advises clients on cutting-edge EJ policy and maintains an active pro bono practice. In addition to her client work, Lauren serves as Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association's Air Quality and Climate Change Committee. 

Before joining B&D, Lauren served as Counsel in the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Office of General Counsel, where she focused on air and climate policy.
